The small loops leading from quillions to the blade. Made to protect the finger wrapped over the guard.
Buff-coat
Heavy coat from buff-leather worn alone for light protection or under armor.
Ricasso
The dull part of a blade right above the hilt. Made for fingering. Not all swords have it.
Kapak
Small throwing axe consists of a tanged metal head fitted into a flat wooden handle.
