- Cod-piece
- Fabric covering for the groin, latterly padded. Its counterpart in
armour could be either of mail or, more usually, of plate.
- Glaive
- A broad-bladed, single-edged
polearm. Mostly an 18” butcher-knife on a 6 - 7’ pole.
- Haubergeon

Hauberk ending between crotch and the middle of the wearer’s thigh. Has a sharp
dagger-like hem.
- Ricasso
- The dull part of a
blade right above the
hilt. Made for
fingering. Not all
swords have it.
